Born as Robin McLaurin Williams on July 21, 1951 to Laurie McLaurin and Robert Fitzgerald Williams in Chicago, Illinois, Robin Williams, was the best of the best American comedians. When he was a child, he tried to make his mother laugh, that’s why he gave credit to his mother for his interest in this field. He has two elder half-brothers. He was a very shy guy and was able to tickle everyone’s funny bone. His pals called him a funny guy only because of this reason. He was very good in academics and was also part of his high school’s soccer and wrestling team and was also the president of his class. Since both of his parents were working, his needs were taken care by the maid who lived with them. In the middle in 1970s, he started his career in comedy genre. He rose to success and fame when the sitcom Mork & Mindy became popular with the masses and he build a solid career as a stand-up comedian and improvised his acts time to time. He debuted in Hollywood in the musical comedy Popeye and starred in many critically acclaimed films like The World According to Garp. He has many awards in his kitty. He won the coveted and prestigious academy award for best supporting actor in Good Will hunting for portraying the role of Dr. Sean Maguire. He was bestowed with two prime time Emmy awards, two screen actors guild awards and was conferred with four Grammy awards.
