US Asserts More Pressure on the Iranian Nuclear Deal
On Thursday, the Under Secretary of United States, Wendy Sherman and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, Abbas Araqchi will reinstate their discussion regarding the curbing of nuclear program of Iran. This was reported by the Iranian media. The bilateral talks between European Union and Iran about the deal had started on Wednesday in a posh hotel in Vienna.
Hamid Baidinejad, who is the official negotiator of Iran for the nuclear deal had announced on the television that the drafting process of the final deal has already commenced. However, he did not give any further information in this matter. In fact, a few months back, both the parties had already declared that the final drafting of the deal had begun.
Apart from Iran, the other five countries who were the participants in the discussion had arrived at a tentative deal on April 2. The participants, US, Russian, China, Germany and Britain are now planning to impose a self-disciplined deadline, which will be the end of June of this year.
As per the agreement, Iran had agreed to cut down the number of centrifuges with uranium enrichments and allow for more intrusive examinations of their nuclear facilities by the IAEA team in exchange for the lifting of the sanctions. Iran is asserting that the sanctions should be lifted the moment the deal is finalized. However, United States is maintaining that the restrictions will be lifted gradually. The other top leaders from different countries will join the negotiation conference by the end of the week.
